I recently received my Grand Kingdom Chess set. I followed the instruction on the top of the Get Started card that came with the set. It says to twist open the shipping lock screw which I did but did not entirely remove the screw. When I initially turned on the set there was a loud grinding noise that lasted for about 30 seconds and then all was quiet. I decided to check out a You Tube video that showed setting up the chess set for the first time and noticed that they would remove the screw totally. I then removed the screw completely from the bottom of the set. By the way the same message shows next to the screw when the set is turned over, i.e. to twist open the shipping lock. I proceeded to contact HelloSquareOFF about this worrying that I damaged the machine. I got a reply that said I needed to remove the screw entirely before first turning the machine on initially otherwise I can damage the internal mechanism. Well, thanks for nothing! Luckily my set seems to working ok and I’m not hearing anymore grinding sounds. So my Feedback/Suggestions are this: #1. Revise the card that came with the set to CLEARLY indicate that the shipping lock screw needs to be removed entirely. In fact that should be step # 1 rather than downloading the app which is currently step #1 and should be in red lettering to stand out as this is a very important step that can prevent damage to the machine. #2 In the instructions for removal of the screw one should retain the screw for future use in the event that one will have to transport, sell, or otherwise move the set over a long period of time. This whole screw matter has caused a lot of consternation for me when it could have been resolved with better instructions rather than initially almost wrecking my set when I first get it and having to worry about it. Thank you.
